The poncho is designed as a fast and intuitive layering solution, created both to support those assisting people with disabilities or motor impairments and to promote personal autonomy in dressing, including for wheelchair users.

Technical windproof and waterproof poncho, made from a lightweight high-performance fabric with reflective treatment, engineered to ensure protection, visibility, and freedom of movement in all weather conditions. The reactive surface retains marks from movement and compression, evoking the rock formations of the Matera landscape and transforming gesture and wear into an aesthetic and identity-driven element.

Inside, adjustable internal straps with MATERIA stoppers and braille branding allow the arms to be inserted, enabling the body to move together with the garment and ensuring a fluid, natural fit. The internal structure is integrated with Fidlock®, allowing the poncho to convert into a “backpack” configuration when not worn, making it easy and intuitive to carry.

The central silver-finish metal zipper features a ring with the MATERIA logo in braille, designed as a recognizable and accessible branding element while improving grip and ease of use.

Internal side openings with small pull cords and MATERIA rings allow the arms to exit the garment, increasing versatility and freedom of movement.

Side pockets, positioned higher and closer to the center of the torso, enhance comfort, accessibility, and security for all users.

A back drawstring system allows the fit to be adjusted.

Functional details such as tubular zipper pulls with reflective inserts improve grip, making the garment intuitive and usable even for those with reduced grip strength.
