MATERIA is a functional and inclusive fashion brand that merges avant-garde aesthetics with accessible design.

It was born from a real need: to simplify the relationship between body, movement, and clothing, transforming design into a concrete tool for autonomy.
MATERIA is the first brand to integrate function, accessibility, and aesthetics into a single design system, radically redefining the way garments are conceived, constructed, and worn.

Each collection is designed to adapt to the body and everyday life, reducing friction in daily gestures and overcoming physical and cultural barriers.
Rooted in materiality and origin, and driven by research, innovation, and experimentation, MATERIA builds a contemporary language where design is not only expression, but also solution.
The goal is clear: to become a global reference in adaptive design, defining new standards between aesthetics, function, and technology.

FOUNDER & CREATIVE DESIGNER

Francesco Saverio Matera (2000) builds his approach starting from movement, transforming it into a structured design methodology.

Awarded a full scholarship at IED Milan, he developed his practice within an international context, gaining recognition through awards and competitions.
Winner of the Woolmark Performance Challenge (Paris), he entered a global network of emerging designers.
He began at Moncler Footwear, working across categories and on projects with Nigo, Rick Owens, A$AP Rocky.

He later joined Stone Island, overseeing footwear development and collaborations with New Balance, contributing also to accessories and apparel.
In 2023, he founded MATERIA, defining a clear direction: transforming design into a system that improves the relationship between body and product. Today, he works as a freelance creative, evolving MATERIA as a platform for research, development, and experimentation.
