REBIRTH - THE ORIGIN OF THE MOVEMENT
SEASON 0 is the starting point. A founding act that encapsulates the essence of MATERIA: bold design, radical inclusiveness, harmony between body and space. Not just a collection, but a wearable manifesto. SEASON 0 explores the boundary between assistance and autonomy, between aesthetics and necessity, giving shape to a new language of dress: accessible, dynamic, profound.

Two trajectories intertwine:
HARMONIQUE , designed to facilitate caregivers, fluidity of gestures, dignity in everyday life. AUTARKEIA , dedicated to those who want to dress themselves, independence, respect, style.

Every piece is a code. Every detail is a statement. Magnetism, flexibility, intelligent closures: technique becomes functional poetry.
SEASON 0 is not a beginning: it's an awakening.

CIRCULARITY

Circularity for MATTER is not theory, but practice .

Season 0 garments are made with selected and refined fabrics , in particular Manteco regenerated wool , coming from traceable and certified supply chains .

Each piece is designed to be 100% recycled at the end of its life cycle. Fabric becomes fiber again, fiber becomes yarn again, yarn becomes garment again: a virtuous system that regenerates itself endlessly. A concrete circular economy that transforms waste into new opportunity .

KNIT

Knitting as textile engineering .
Our knitwear is made from engineered merino wool and blends , crafted using cutting-edge circular seamless knitting machines. Zero waste , zero seams , and maximum volume control .

The garment comes off the loom complete , ready to wear. Each area is designed to meet a body need : elasticity , support , breathability . A second skin that combines innovation and sustainability .

WOOLMARK

From concept to victory , from idea to future .

In 2021 Francesco Saverio Matera started a research path on the potential of merino wool , culminating with the first prize and the innovation prize at the Woolmark Performance Challenge .

From that pioneering project were born functional , sustainable and recyclable garments, developed with zero-waste seamless machinery. The elimination of synthetic fibres in favour of natural materials marks a clear direction: high performance , respect for the body , respect for the planet .

MAJOTECH

Resistance as a form of sustainability .

Thanks to the collaboration with Majotech , integrated into Season 0 , we explore technical materials derived from the military world : treated , waterproof , wind-resistant and wear -resistant fabrics.

Garments designed to last over time , indestructible everyday companions. For us, durability is an ethical choice : less consumption , more permanence .

HANDS-FREE FUNCTIONAL BAG

An accessory that becomes freedom .

The functional, hands-free bag was born from real-life observations : an object that wraps around the body and adapts to the wearer. It can be carried over the shoulder or attached to the thigh , becoming a tool for independence even for those in wheelchairs .

Magnetic closures , quick zips and buttons designed for immediacy . A flexible, accessible and intelligent design : always at hand , hands-free.

3D PRINTING

Innovation without waste .

3D printing is our tool for eliminating waste and imagining new shapes . Ergonomic and functional accessories are born directly from the production process , reducing consumption and making each object more intuitive to use.

A new way of thinking about design : modular , responsible , adaptable .

HP

Experimenting with pioneers means pushing the boundaries of what's possible . Within Season 0 , MATERIA collaborates with HP to test the most innovative powder 3D printing systems, and from this synergy two emblematic prototypes are born:

A wraparound goggle that adapts to the head like a natural extension and an easy-wear shoe designed to be put on quickly by anyone thanks to the double YKK front and rear openings that guarantee total access . Technology that becomes inclusion , experimentation that becomes everyday use .

VOLTA FOOTWEAR

Volta Footwear x MATERIA: The Harmony of Autarkeia is the collaboration that brings tradition and innovation into dialogue, giving life to a shoe that combines classic design and contemporary functionality . The Velcro closure ensures immediate and universal accessibility, the laser-cut leather upper with micro-perforations offers targeted breathability and material effects that alternate matte and reflective inspired by the Matera rock ,

while the Vibram Rustic sole with Traction Lug technology increases grip by up to 25% . Every step becomes stability , every terrain a possibility : an inclusive shoe that does not give up style and territorial roots .

GEPPETTO

Among the iconic objects of Matera there is the Cùcù , the ceramic whistle that preserves signs and memories of the territory . For Season 0 we have reinterpreted this symbol together with Geppetto ,

historic craftsman from Matera , giving life to an object that embodies aesthetics , irony , and brand recognition . A bridge between tradition and innovation , between craftsmanship and vision .
